With a decade of teaching experience, Matisse facilitates interactive and exploratory seminars, workshops, and lectures to facilitate conversations around gender, sexuality, culture, and identity; as well as trans, nonbinary, queer, and LGBTQIA+ subjects.

Beyond this, they are a multidisciplinary artist who flits between inky abstract paintings, makeup, and chainmaille jewelry.

 In 2021, Matisse founded The Queer Theatre Project, an all-volunteer recreational community theatre company by and for the LGBTQIA+ community in Somerville, MA. So far, QTP has put on A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Twelfth Night, [title of show], Qabaret, and is currently working on a Shakes-Queer rendition of Much Ado About Nothing.
